2024 Nissan Z NISMO: Elevated Sports Car Dynamics

Nissan unveils its 2024 Z NISMO, pushing the boundaries of its sports car lineage by offering heightened performance and distinctive design enhancements. This rendition of Z NISMO is engineered for those with a penchant for dynamic driving, building upon the established foundation of the Z Sport and Performance grades.

Power and Performance Upgrades

Under the hood, Z NISMO houses a twin-turbo engine that belts out 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. The increase of 20 hp and 34 lb-ft from the regular Z grades is achieved through improved cooling, revised turbocharger dynamics, and an ignition strategy inspired by the GT-R NISMO. For track enthusiasts, Z NISMO integrates an enhanced oil cooler. Paired with this powerhouse is a nine-speed automatic transmission exclusively tailored for the NISMO. Its refined clutch packs and software programming ensure faster and more dynamic shifts, further enhanced by a new Sport+ drive mode.

Chassis and Handling Optimizations

The enhanced performance is complemented by a comprehensive rework of the car's suspension. Every component, from stabilizer bars to dampers, has been fine-tuned for precision and grip. The Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT600 tires, akin to those on the GT-R, ensure superior traction. These tires are mounted on lightweight, NISMO-specific, gloss-black Rays 19-inch wheels, which, despite being wider, weigh slightly less due to advanced construction. The chassis also gets a facelift with added bracing and stiffening, elevating its torsional rigidity by 2.5%. Furthermore, the braking system is recalibrated with larger rotors and a track-focused pad compound for sustained performance.

Distinctive Aerodynamic Design

Z NISMO's exterior stands out with its aerodynamic refinements. The "Grand-Nose" or "G-Nose" front design is reminiscent of the heritage Nissan Fairlady 240ZG. The facade includes a uniquely designed grille, canards for improved aerodynamics, and subtle red accents. At the rear, a taller and wider spoiler complements the modified bumper corners, both aiding in aerodynamic efficiency. Additionally, Z NISMO’s bodywork is offered in five colours, including the NISMO-exclusive Stealth Grey.

Elevated Interior Features

The cabin of Z NISMO is elegantly refined. Red-anodized engine-start and drive mode buttons, leather and Alcantara-wrapped Recaro seats, and a bespoke steering wheel underscore the car's sports-oriented character. The digital display gets a NISMO touch with distinctive graphics and a unique start-up animation.

For those keen on price points, the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO is slated for a fall release, with pricing details to be disclosed in the coming months.
