2025 Nissan LEAF: Up to 342 km Range, Two Battery Options

Nissan Canada has announced the release of its 2025 LEAF electric vehicle, now available for purchase starting at $41,748 CAD. This latest iteration of the popular EV aims to maintain its position as one of the most accessible electric vehicles in the Canadian market.

Battery Options and Range

The 2025 LEAF offers two battery configurations to suit different driving needs. The base SV model features a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery, providing an EPA-estimated range of up to 240 km. For those requiring extended range, the SV PLUS model comes equipped with a larger 60-kWh battery, offering up to 342 km of driving distance on a single charge.

Both models support quick charging capabilities. The SV can reach 80% charge in approximately 40 minutes using a Quick Charge Port, while the SV PLUS takes about 60 minutes to achieve the same charge level. Nissan backs the battery with a limited warranty covering defects for eight years or 160,000 kilometres.

Design and Interior Features

The 2025 LEAF showcases recent exterior enhancements, including a redesigned front grille, updated bumper molding, and revised headlights. Standard exterior features comprise 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and fog lights.

Inside, the LEAF accommodates five passengers comfortably, offering up to 849 litres of cargo space. The 60/40 split fold-down rear seat provides additional flexibility for cargo management. A leather-wrapped steering wheel comes standard, adding a touch of refinement to the interior.

Advanced Technology and Infotainment

At the heart of the LEAF's tech offerings is the NissanConnect infotainment system, featuring an 8-inch display. The system supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM radio, along with four USB ports for connectivity. Nissan's Door-to-Door Navigation is also included, as well as EV-specific functions like charging and climate control timers.

Additional conveniences include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a hybrid heater system for improved cabin warming. The NissanConnect EV & Services telematics allows remote access to various vehicle functions through a dedicated mobile app.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The 2025 LEAF comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, a comprehensive suite of safety technologies. This package includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist.

Further enhancing the driving experience, all LEAF models feature ProPILOT Assist, which combines Intelligent Cruise Control with steering assistance. The Intelligent Around View Monitor provides additional safety and convenience during parking and low-speed manoeuvres.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Nissan LEAF is now available at Canadian dealerships. The SV model with the 40-kWh battery starts at $41,748 CAD, while the SV PLUS with the 60-kWh battery is priced from $47,498 CAD.

With its combination of affordable pricing, improved range options, and comprehensive feature set, the 2025 Nissan LEAF aims to continue its strong presence in the Canadian electric vehicle market.
